Emergence is one of my newest works created in these post pandemic times. It explores themes of emerging and spaces of sanctuary. It’s a  fusion of the ancient medium of encaustic with mixed media, found materials and copper pieces. These elements are assembled into a rich textured, luminous metaphysical landscape. Passages and archways suggest transitions, rebirth, leaving the past behind and entering a new space and time. The piece is full of other symbols and metaphors for the audience to discover, explore and interpret from their own frame of reference. I hope that it offers a visual place of respite, reflection and enchantment.

This piece was part of a collaboration between a local composer, poet and myself and it was an installation that offered an immersive art experience. It travelled throughout the community of Stratford, Ontario, Canada during 2022-2023.
