This post pandemic piece explores the theme of Sanctuary and presence. It is a fusion of the ancient medium of encaustic with mixed media, found materials and copper pieces. These elements are assembled into a textured, luminous metaphysical landscape. An archway suggests transitions, rebirth, leaving the past behind and entering a new space and time. The pieces are full of other symbols and metaphors for the audience to discover, explore and interpret from their own frame of reference. This piece also contains a copper etching and a real feather.
